Don't you love it when a grocery store staple offers big benefits? Tea is one of them. Tea is high in anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties, and it's high in antioxidants. And in addition to offering great health benefits just by being consumed, tea can also be used for beauty treatments and skin conditions. Here are four instances where you can use tea in your beauty regiments:
- Dull hair. Add shine to your hair with green tea. Boil water and then steep a couple of green tea bags for 15 minutes. Remove tea from heat and let cool. After washing hair, pour tea onto hair and let sit for 10 minutes. When done, shampoo and condition your hair.
- Treat bug bites. The next time you have an itchy bug bite, set a cold, used tea bag onto the bite, and let it sit for a couple of minutes.
- Puffy eyes. The anti-inflammatory properties found in tea helps to reduce swelling around eyes. Place used, moist (not hot, though) tea bags onto your eyes to help reduce under-eye circles and puffiness.
- Dry skin. Tea makes a great face moisturizer. Place green tea into a spray bottle and cool in the refrigerator (for up to four days). Spritz tea onto your face twice a day for a healthy glow and to draw out impurities.
These are just a couple of ways that tea is used for beauty or to treat skin issues. It's also used to treat sunburns, feet odor, and razor burns. Tea is pretty impressive, wouldn't you say?
